The Segway human transporter arrives in Méribel

Méribel is to become the first French resort to offer its visitors the new Segway human transporter. Silent, electrically-powered and capable of tackling hills and even snow, these innovative machines will offer a new means of exploring the valley. The Segway, it is claimed, is so simple to manouvre, it can be used by anybody. Sophisticated gyroscopes located in the platform and large wheels located on each side allow the rider to remain in balance even when going up or downhill. read more...

Zidane in Chamonix to climb Mont Blanc for charity

French footballing legend Zinedine Zidane was in Chamonix this weekend to climb Mont Blanc in aid of ELA - the European Association for Leucodystrophy. Zidane has been patron for the past nine years for the charity that aims to offer support to sufferers of leucodystrophy - a genetically determined progressive disorder that affects the brain. read more...

New hotels for Méribel

Hotels are essential to the economy of the resort. Studies have shown that well-filled hotel beds, compared with often unoccupied apartment beds, benefit the whole resort. Hence Méribel’s town hall is working to encourage new hotels and support existing ones in the valley. read more...

The col de l'Iseran due to open on the 15th June
